Eric Hone is an accomplished trial lawyer and litigator. Eric co-founded Hone Law in 2018, creating a unique litigation model that has sought to root out the inherent downsides of BigLaw litigation practices while creating data-driven processes that benefit both clients and legal professionals. In the short time since, the firm has become known as one of the premier complex litigation firms in Nevada, ranked by Chambers USA, and recognized as a Tier 1 Commercial Litigation firm by Best Law Firms®.
Eric thrives trying cases and is at home in the courtroom. The firm’s trial team is consistently prepared, confident, and eager to take cases to trial if satisfactory results cannot otherwise be had. Eric’s enthusiasm for trying cases permeates Hone Law’s approach to all its litigation matters, allowing the firm to maximize clients’ pre-trial resolution options while ensuring the most thorough preparedness for trial if needed. Eric and the firm’s trial team consistently take multiple cases to trial every year and regularly prevail on their clients’ behalf.
Outside the comfort of the courtroom, Eric finds joy with his family, bicycles, dog (Trajan), and desert tortoise (Milo). When not focused on a trial, arbitration, or evidentiary hearing, Eric prefers to satisfy his competitive spirit racing endurance road cycling events or barreling down trails on his mountain bike or snowboard.
Eric has achieved successful outcomes for numerous clients—both plaintiffs and defendants—across a wide range of industries and across multiple jurisdictions. He has represented myriad clients including large multi-national companies, real estate development and construction companies, professional athletes, municipalities, start-up companies, closely held businesses, individuals, investors, and entrepreneurs. Eric and the firm’s trial team have extensive experience with multi-national, cross-border disputes, and frequently represent clients in litigation matters across the United States.
Eric has tried, arbitrated, prevailed in dispositive motion practice, and beneficially resolved litigation matters across the spectrum: complex business disputes, franchise law, alter ego and successor liability, non-compete and trade secret disputes, intellectual property, financial services, building and heavy civil construction claims, director and officer liability, defamation/business disparagement, privileged licensing (gaming/alcohol/cannabis), and sports and entertainment.
Eric takes pride in the fact that the firm’s unique model has quickly led it to become among the most diverse and successful litigation departments in the region. The firm is solidly placed as a go to “Bet-the-Company” litigation team. Eric’s litigation stories are legion and entertaining including, among others, his having been awarded an Ultimate Fighting Championship title belt by UFC President Dana White for his legal writing prowess.
